Issues in Developmental Disabilities (IIDD) Continuing Education
Unit (CEU) packages are designed for professionals seeking an enhanced
understanding of the complexities and challenges of providing supportive
services to persons with developmental disabilities. IIDD CEU packages
can be tailored to the individual learning needs of social workers,
rehabilitation counselors, nurses, and special educators.
Advanced Issues in Developmental Disabilities is currently in development
and is projected to be available in the fall of 2000.
Features of IIDD CEU packages include:
- 2,4,6, and 8 hour sessions
- Specialized instruction to meet individual needs
- Website based content
- Information on etiology, treatment, philosophical approaches, and
best practices in the field
- Nationally known lecturers such as John & Connie Lyle O'Brien,
Lou Brown, and Gunnar Dybwad
Examples of topics available through CEU packages include:
- Developmental Disabilities and Case Management - 2 CEU hours
- Education Inclusion and Special Education - 4 CEU hours
- Supportive Employment - 4 CEU hours
- Aging and Developmental Disabilities - 4 CEU hours
- Autism and PDD - 6 CEU hours
- Person Centered Planning - 6 CEU hours
- Advocacy - 8 CEU hours
Cost: $50.00 per credit hour
